Scope and operating boundary
An overtime review records the worker reference, work period, reported hours, approval source, recorded hours, variance, and owner. A timesheet entry can identify a question, but it does not establish that overtime was authorized or payable.
Workflow and evidence controls
A payroll coordinator can compare the approved request, time record, and manager note, then prepare an exception list. The manager, payroll owner, or HR team decides approval, correction, treatment, and communication.
Quality review and exceptions
Preserve the original record and the later correction as separate events. Keep calculations reproducible without placing sensitive payroll details in a general work queue.
