Scope and operating boundary

A balance review lists the worker reference, source system, review period, opening value, transactions, closing value, and unresolved variance. A calculated balance can expose a mismatch, but it does not determine entitlement or approve a request.

Workflow and evidence controls

A coordinator can compare approved requests, recorded transactions, and corrections, then prepare an exception packet. HR, the manager, or the payroll owner decides treatment, correction, communication, and any exception under the applicable arrangement.

Quality review and exceptions

Preserve source snapshots and calculation notes. Record an approved correction separately from the observed variance so later users can reconstruct how the balance changed.
